Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver an engaging and effective Maths curriculum to students of all abilities.
  • Monitor and support the academic progress and development of students as a form tutor.
  • Create a motivating and safe learning environment that encourages student achievement.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, resource development, and curriculum design.
  • Support the school’s mission by raising standards and promoting a culture of high expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to staff training and growth.
  • Manage student behavior and pastoral care responsibilities as part of the form tutor role.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Proven experience teaching Maths at secondary level, ideally in a multi-ethnic urban setting.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum for KS3 and KS4.
  • Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons and assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ICT skills, including the use of interactive teaching tools.
  • Commitment to student welfare and the promotion of equality and inclusion.

Preferred

  • Experience in an 11-18 school setting.
  • Previous involvement in curriculum development or leadership roles.
  • Experience with pastoral care and form tutoring.
  • Knowledge of innovative teaching methods and strategies for student motivation.
