Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver an engaging and effective Maths curriculum to students of all abilities.
- Monitor and support the academic progress and development of students as a form tutor.
- Create a motivating and safe learning environment that encourages student achievement.
- Contribute to departmental planning, resource development, and curriculum design.
- Support the school’s mission by raising standards and promoting a culture of high expectations.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to staff training and growth.
- Manage student behavior and pastoral care responsibilities as part of the form tutor role.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
- Proven experience teaching Maths at secondary level, ideally in a multi-ethnic urban setting.
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum for KS3 and KS4.
- Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons and assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ICT skills, including the use of interactive teaching tools.
- Commitment to student welfare and the promotion of equality and inclusion.
Preferred
- Experience in an 11-18 school setting.
- Previous involvement in curriculum development or leadership roles.
- Experience with pastoral care and form tutoring.
- Knowledge of innovative teaching methods and strategies for student motivation.
