Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that promote deep understanding and problem-solving skills in mathematics.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work that align with the school’s curriculum and the needs of students.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide targeted support to address learning gaps and improve outcomes.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Support students in preparing for GCSE exams, ensuring they are confident and well-prepared for assessment.
  • Encourage a genuine love for mathematics and help students see its relevance in the real world.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the mathematics curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and appropriate teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  • Proven experience in teaching mathematics at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Commitment to student progress and a track record of achieving positive outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with the White Rose Maths scheme of work or similar curricula.
  • Familiarity with Edexcel GCSE Mathematics and a linear two-tier curriculum.
  • Experience in developing and delivering problem-solving and numeracy-focused lessons.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Experience in working with diverse student groups and supporting students with different learning needs.
