Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that promote deep understanding and problem-solving skills in mathematics.
- Develop and implement schemes of work that align with the school’s curriculum and the needs of students.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide targeted support to address learning gaps and improve outcomes.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve the quality of teaching and learning.
- Support students in preparing for GCSE exams, ensuring they are confident and well-prepared for assessment.
- Encourage a genuine love for mathematics and help students see its relevance in the real world.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the mathematics curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and appropriate teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
- Proven experience in teaching mathematics at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
- Commitment to student progress and a track record of achieving positive outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience with the White Rose Maths scheme of work or similar curricula.
- Familiarity with Edexcel GCSE Mathematics and a linear two-tier curriculum.
- Experience in developing and delivering problem-solving and numeracy-focused lessons.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Experience in working with diverse student groups and supporting students with different learning needs.
