The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Maths Teacher to join our growing department and support students from Key Stage 3 through to A Level. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of young learners and contribute to a forward-thinking curriculum that prioritises real-world relevance and student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Maths lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, including A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
  • Contribute to curriculum design to ensure lessons are engaging, challenging and relevant to students’ future aspirations.
  • Monitor and support student progress, with a particular focus on intervention for disadvantaged learners.
  • Participate in and contribute to the school’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme.
  • Promote the profile of Maths across the school by supporting events such as UKMT and AMSP competitions.
  • Ensure effective deployment of teaching assistants and other adults in the classroom.
  • Provide accurate and meaningful feedback to students and parents in line with school policy.
  • Support the school’s marketing and recruitment efforts through engagement with feeder primary schools and attendance at events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching Maths at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Commitment to high-quality teaching and student progress.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design and assessment practices.
  • Ability to support and manage student behaviour effectively.
  • Experience in using ICT to enhance learning and teaching.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental CPD initiatives.
  • Familiarity with UKMT and AMSP events and competitions.
  • Experience with teaching A Level Further Mathematics.
  • Background in working with diverse student cohorts, including those with special educational needs and complex social issues.
