The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Teach students in accordance with their developmental needs, using a variety of stimulating and quality methods of learning.
- Prepare lessons in line with the departmental Scheme of Work, college policies, and examination specifications.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the subject and relevant assessment methods.
- Assist in updating department policies and curriculum planning.
- Create teaching resources and promote literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
- Provide homework and exam-based assignments, ensuring students receive the necessary support.
- Support students with deadlines and ensure their work is correctly assessed and moderated.
- Assist in student interviews and provide advice on course suitability.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree in maths or a relevant subject.
- Experience of teaching and supporting young people aged 14+ in an educational context.
- Ability to devise and implement a range of teaching strategies to promote learning and enjoyment of the subject.
- Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Confidence in using Microsoft Office and online systems/databases.
- Knowledge of EAL practices and curriculum initiatives.
Preferred
- Experience with teaching Key Stage 4 and post-16 level subjects.
- Awareness of developments affecting the delivery of maths education.
- Patience, perseverance, and a commitment to overcoming barriers to learning.
- Inspiring and positive attitude to maintaining student discipline.
- Team-focused attitude and willingness to support others.
