The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Matron to join our Boarding House team, delivering high-quality pastoral care and supervision to students. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building positive relationships and ensuring the well-being of young people in a vibrant and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent pastoral care and supervision to students in the Boarding House.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Boarding House through strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Deliver a warm and compassionate approach to student welfare and support.
  • Support the implementation of school policies and procedures related to student care and safety.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student activities and welfare.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment for all students.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or care-related role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students and adults.
  • Competency in ICT and the use of relevant software systems.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • First aid qualifications or willingness to complete training.
  • Experience in a boarding or residential care environment.
  • Experience with child protection and safeguarding procedures.
  • Knowledge of school policies and procedures related to student welfare.
