The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Mechanical Engineering Teacher to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality education in Higher Education. This role focuses on planning, delivery, and assessment of practical skills in mechanical engineering, including CAD/CAM up to Level 5. You will play a key role in shaping the future of learners through innovative teaching and industry-relevant training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess teaching/learning programmes in mechanical engineering, including CAD/CAM up to Level 5.
- Develop and implement practical skills training in fitting, milling, and turning at Level 2 and Level 3.
- Use a range of teaching strategies and learning styles to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Support learners on work experience and devise assessment processes based on personal progress targets.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and continuously develop your professional skills through CPD.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in teaching CAD and mechanical engineering, including maths and science.
- Literacy and Numeracy to at least Level 2.
- Level 3/4 qualification or relevant NVQ (or equivalent).
- Level 5 Diploma (DTLLS) or equivalent within 2 years of appointment.
- Relevant assessment qualifications – IQA/A1/V1.
Preferred
- Level 4 Teaching Qualification: Certificate in Education/PGCE/Bachelor of Education.
- Experience with teaching in a further education setting.
- Evidence of current Continuous Professional Development.

- Competitive salary ranging from £33,809 to £46,63.
