The Opportunity:

Join a school’s Mental Health & Wellbeing team as a Mental Health Advisor (Outreach) to support students and expand mental health initiatives. This role involves providing direct support, managing outreach programs, and building partnerships with feeder schools to ensure continuity of care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide confidential mental health support and advice to students.
  • Triage students to appropriate services and ensure safeguarding.
  • Develop and coordinate the Mental Health Student Ambassador program.
  • Liaise with local secondary schools and external agencies for referrals and collaboration.
  • Deliver drop-ins, small group sessions, and focused group work.
  • Travel between campuses and local schools as required, with reimbursement for travel costs.
  • Support the ongoing development of mental health initiatives and outreach programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree-level qualification and relevant professional experience in mental health support.
  • Experience working with adolescents and adults with mental health conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to provide confidential support and advice.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including different cultures, disabilities, and sexual orientations.

Preferred

  • Experience in an education setting.
  • Demonstrated resilience and confidence to work autonomously.
  • Experience with mental health interventions and referral processes.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and student wellbeing frameworks.
