The Opportunity:

A Mental Health Practitioner is needed to support pupils at the senior school through holistic mental health assessments and well-being initiatives. This role is ideal for a kind and caring professional looking to make a meaningful impact on students and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the holistic assessment and management of pupils’ mental health and well-being needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to students and their families through mental health promotion and early intervention.
  • Collaborate with the dedicated mental health team to deliver effective care and support.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve mental health outcomes across the school community.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with safeguarding and child protection requirements.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance practice.
  • Work closely with other school staff, including teachers and support services, to ensure a consistent approach to student well-being.
  • Attend meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to mental health and safeguarding.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified professional with experience as a Social Worker, Nurse, or Occupational Therapist.
  • Previous experience in a similar role working with children and young people.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health promotion, prevention, and early intervention approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection standards.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of child development and mental health.
  • Experience with crisis intervention and support planning.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
