The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the MFL curriculum for Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Inspire and motivate both students and teaching staff to achieve their full potential.
  • Use student data to monitor progress and implement targeted interventions.
  • Stay up to date with MFL and community languages entry requirements and exam structures.
  • Support teacher development through training and professional guidance.
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork within the MFL department.
  • Promote a passion for languages and cultures across the school.
  • Act as a role model and demonstrate the highest standards of professional conduct.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience teaching MFL at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to use student data effectively to inform teaching and learning.
  • In-depth knowledge of MFL and community languages exam requirements.
  • Commitment to professional development and teacher training.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Knowledge of community languages such as Mandarin, Arabic, or Spanish.
  • Experience in a STEM-specialist or innovative educational setting.
