The Opportunity:

As a Middle School Counselor, you will play a vital role in promoting the academic, social-emotional, and ethical development of students. You will lead a comprehensive program that supports student well-being, inclusion, and personal growth through advisory, guidance, and transition support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students’ academic, social-emotional, and ethical development through individual and group counseling.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Design and implement advisory programs that promote student resilience, empathy, and belonging.
  • Provide guidance and support during key transition periods, including middle school to high school.
  • Monitor and address student well-being, ensuring a safe and positive school climate.
  • Facilitate workshops and activities that enhance student development and social skills.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and teachers.
  • Contribute to the development of school-wide initiatives that support student success and well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field.
  • Valid counseling license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in school counseling, preferably at the middle school level.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Commitment to student well-being, inclusion, and ethical development.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an international school setting.
  • Familiarity with student safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Experience with individual and group counseling techniques.
  • Knowledge of adolescent development and mental health support.
