As a Middle School Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping young minds through innovative and inquiry-based instruction. You will inspire curiosity and a love for science while promoting social-emotional growth and a strong sense of belonging among students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement science units aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the school’s curriculum
  • Create and deliver engaging, differentiated lesson plans that promote critical thinking and scientific inquiry
  • Integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) competencies into classroom activities and assessments
  • Collaborate with the Science department to organize and lead the annual Academic Fair (Science Fair)
  • Maintain a classroom environment that supports student growth, collaboration, and reflection
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to support student progress and achievement
  • Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices in science education
  • Contribute to school-wide initiatives, committees, and extracurricular activities
  • Uphold the school’s commitment to child safeguarding and professional expectations

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Current Secondary license or certification for teaching Science
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Middle School Science teacher in an accredited secondary school
  • Familiarity with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and experience integrating them into curriculum
  • Strong classroom management skills grounded in positive behavior supports

Preferred

  • Background in Physics or Chemistry
  • Master’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Experience with inquiry-based instruction and differentiation
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and educational technology tools
  • Experience working in a multicultural, international environment
