Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and develop lessons and units in alignment with the school’s curriculum framework.
• Collaborate with grade level teachers to ensure horizontal and vertical alignment in curriculum documentation.
• Create differentiated lesson plans that address student needs and promote engagement.
• Design and implement formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
• Demonstrate strong content knowledge in social studies and other core subjects.
• Establish and maintain high expectations for student behavior and academic performance.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with all students to support their growth and development.
• Implement effective classroom routines that encourage student self-discipline and responsibility.
• Use dynamic teaching strategies to actively involve all students in learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues to analyze data, reflect on teaching practices, and improve student outcomes.
• Provide students with opportunities to set goals, self-assess, and take ownership of their learning.
• Communicate regularly with parents and support their involvement in their child’s education.
• Participate in after-school activities and fulfill assigned supervision duties.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• Valid teaching certification for middle school social studies.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the middle school level.
• Strong knowledge of social studies curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Ability to create and implement differentiated lesson plans.

Preferred

• Experience with curriculum development and alignment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with data analysis and student assessment.
• Familiarity with social emotional learning frameworks.
