The Opportunity:

As a Middle School Values Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the character and social-emotional development of students through a dynamic and values-based curriculum. This is an opportunity to inspire young minds and contribute to a supportive, inclusive learning community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Values courses to Grades 6–8, covering themes such as peace, dignity, community, and environmental stewardship
  • Design and implement units using backward design (UbD) and inquiry-based learning strategies
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) into classroom practices
  • Support and participate in service learning and fundraising initiatives
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver the annual Peace Assembly
  • Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes belonging, respect, and student engagement
  • Use standards-based assessments to monitor and report on student progress
  • Work across disciplines to develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Current middle school teaching license with a recommendation in Social Studies or Human Sciences
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience in an accredited secondary school
  • Strong classroom management skills with a focus on positive behavior supports
  • Experience in differentiating instruction and integrating SEL into learning

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Experience with Google Suite and educational technology tools
  • Passion for teaching social justice and compassion
  • Experience working in a multicultural, international environment
