The Opportunity:

As a Modern Foreign Languages Curriculum Leader, you will lead a dynamic team and inspire students through a diverse range of language offerings. This role is ideal for an ambitious educator looking to shape the future of language education and continue a tradition of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Modern Foreign Languages curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 5.
  • Manage a team of dedicated teachers and support staff.
  • Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement across French, Spanish, German, Japanese, and Mandarin.
  • Organise and coordinate language trips and exchanges.
  • Promote and develop a range of heritage language qualifications.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance professional development and student outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and provide strategic direction.
  • Support the school’s mission of achieving excellence in a learning community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading curriculum development in Modern Foreign Languages.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience in team leadership.
  • Excellent knowledge of teaching and learning strategies in MFL.
  • A commitment to high standards and student achievement.
  • Experience in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.

Preferred

  • Experience with heritage language qualifications.
  • Background in organising language trips and exchanges.
  • Experience in a high-performing school environment.
  • Knowledge of a range of language teaching methodologies.
