The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach French and German at Key Stage 3 and 4 to a range of students.
  • Deliver engaging and culturally enriching lessons that promote curiosity and diversity.
  • Collaborate with the Modern Foreign Languages department to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through differentiated instruction and assessment.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Work closely with the Head of Department and TLR post-holder to ensure consistent standards of teaching and learning.
  • Stay up to date with current educational trends and best practices in language teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Modern Foreign Languages at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong knowledge of French and German language and culture.
  • Commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive teaching.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching ECTs (Early Career Teachers) or mentoring.
  • Background in Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Familiarity with digital tools for language teaching.
