The Opportunity:
A Modern Foreign Languages Teacher (Spanish & French) is needed to support the school’s mission of developing “Linguists for Life”. This role involves teaching Spanish at KS4 and French at KS3, while contributing to a dynamic and successful department that values creativity, cultural awareness, and student progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that promote language acquisition and cultural understanding.
- Support all students to make strong progress in Spanish and French, including preparation for GCSEs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and resources.
- Contribute to the wider life of the department, including enrichment activities and extra-curricular opportunities.
- Encourage students to become confident communicators and global citizens.
- Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and mentoring programs.
- Maintain high standards of teaching and learning, ensuring a positive impact on student outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Spanish and French.
- Experience teaching Modern Foreign Languages at KS3 and KS4.
- Commitment to developing students as confident and capable linguists.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Preferred
- Experience in developing curriculum and assessment strategies.
- Background in promoting language learning beyond the classroom.
- Experience with enrichment activities or extra-curricular language programs.
- Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes in MFL.
