The Opportunity:
A Modern Foreign Languages Teacher (Spanish & French) is needed to join a dynamic and innovative department. This role offers the chance to inspire students and contribute to a high-achieving learning environment. The teacher will play a key part in delivering engaging lessons in Spanish and French across Key Stages 3 and 5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Spanish and French to Key Stage 3 students, with the potential to teach up to Key Stage 5 in at least one language.
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that promote student achievement and a love of learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources.
- Support students in developing language skills, confidence, and cultural awareness.
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and wider school events.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Contribute to the development of the curriculum and extracurricular activities related to language learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish and/or French).
- Experience teaching Spanish and French at Key Stage 3, with the ability to teach up to Key Stage 5.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
Preferred
- Experience in a school with a strong academic and pastoral ethos.
- Experience with teaching English as a Second Language (ESOL) or additional language support.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Leadership experience or an interest in taking on leadership roles within the department.
- Familiarity with current educational technologies and online learning platforms.
