Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Music across all key stages, up to and including A Level, ensuring high standards of learning and achievement.
- Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that incorporate the use of ICT and music technology.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of extra-curricular music activities, including ensemble direction and performance opportunities.
- Support the development of students’ musical skills and confidence, both in and outside the classroom.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Music Department to maintain and enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
- Assist in the organisation and planning of music events, trips, and tours.
- Provide keyboard accompaniment and support for ensembles where required.
- Stay informed of current educational initiatives and developments in Music education.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good honours degree in Music (2:1 or above) and a PGCE and/or QTS.
- Proven experience teaching Music across all secondary key stages, up to and including A Level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Experience in leading and directing ensembles.
- Strong keyboard skills and the ability to accompany to a reasonable level.
- Confidence in using ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
Preferred
- Experience with the Edexcel and Eduqas Music syllabi.
- Experience in organising and planning school events, trips, and tours.
- Experience in teaching Music Technology.
- Experience in pastoral and academic school life.
