The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Music Teacher to join a dynamic department and inspire students across key stages. This role offers the chance to teach KS3 music, with opportunities to also deliver GCSE and A-Level music. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education and a commitment to delivering high-quality lessons and extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach key stage 3 music and support students in their musical development.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons using a variety of instruments and music technology.
  • Prepare and deliver GCSE and A-Level music for suitable candidates.
  • Lead and support extracurricular music groups including choir, orchestra, and ensembles.
  • Collaborate with other departments to deliver whole-school performances and productions.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students achieve their goals.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
  • Participate in the school’s wider music and performing arts programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in music education.
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 3 music.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, and composition.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and structured lessons.
  • Commitment to extracurricular music activities.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching GCSE or A-Level music.
  • Experience with music technology such as Bandlab or Sibelius.
  • Experience in leading or managing music ensembles or groups.
  • Experience in performing arts or drama education.
