The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and qualified Music Teacher to join its dynamic department. This role involves teaching Key Stage 3 music, with the potential to also teach GCSE and A-Level music. The ideal candidate will be able to contribute to a vibrant extracurricular program and support students in developing their musical talents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Key Stage 3 music and potentially GCSE and A-Level music.
- Deliver engaging lessons that incorporate a range of musical topics and technologies.
- Support students in developing their performance and composition skills.
- Contribute to a comprehensive extracurricular program, including choirs, orchestras, and ensembles.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance the school’s arts and performance offerings.
- Provide individualized feedback and guidance to students to help them achieve their full potential.
- Maintain a well-equipped and stimulating learning environment for music students.
- Participate in school productions and events, including whole-school musicals and local festivals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in music education.
- Experience teaching Key Stage 3 music.
- Ability to deliver a varied and engaging curriculum.
- Strong knowledge of music theory and practice.
- Commitment to student development and inclusion.
Preferred
- Experience teaching GCSE or A-Level music.
- Experience in performing arts or related subjects.
- Experience with music technology software such as Bandlab or Sibelius.
- Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular music groups.
- Experience in school productions or theatre work.
