Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons that inspire and engage students of all abilities.
  • Prepare students for a wide range of musical performances and events, including choirs, orchestras, and school productions.
  • Support the development of students’ musical talents both within and beyond the classroom.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the department and Trust to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and events that promote the school’s cultural and musical life.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and personal growth.
  • Stay up to date with current trends and developments in music education.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the school’s music program and departmental initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience or newly qualified teacher with a strong passion for music education.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in teaching music across a range of abilities and age groups.
  • Commitment to student development and a willingness to support extracurricular musical activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and across a Multi-Academy Trust.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading ensembles or directing choirs, orchestras, or bands.
  • Experience with music technology and digital teaching tools.
  • Experience in preparing students for public performances and competitions.
  • Knowledge of music theory and performance practice.
