Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective music lessons in line with established schemes of learning
- Set high expectations for student achievement and behaviour
- Support the personal development of students from Year 7 to 13
- Ensure the progression and continuity of learning across key stages
- Fulfil a pastoral role as a tutor, including safeguarding, student guidance, and communication with parents
- Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme and personal development initiatives
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and improve teaching standards
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good honours degree in music or a related subject
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience in teaching music to students across Key Stages 3 to 5
- Commitment to fostering student learning and personal development
- Strong organisational and planning skills
Preferred
- Experience with new teaching and learning developments
- Evidence of value-added achievement and high student retention
- Interest in pastoral care and student welfare
- Experience in extra-curricular music activities or leadership roles
