Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative music lessons that inspire a love of learning and creativity.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets GCSE standards and supports student achievement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages musical growth and confidence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and share best practices.
  • Support the school’s leadership and character development programme through music and performance opportunities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure high standards of attainment.
  • Participate in school events and extracurricular activities that promote student engagement and achievement.
  • Stay up to date with developments in music education and incorporate new ideas into teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience of teaching to GCSE standard.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality music lessons that drive student achievement.
  • Demonstrated experience of achieving positive outcomes for students.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and leading extracurricular music programmes.
  • Experience with innovative and creative teaching methods.
  • Experience in a school with a leadership or character development focus.
