The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Music Teacher to join our Expressive Literacy team and support students from KS3 through to GCSE level. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student engagement and achievement in music and the performing arts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Prepare and implement effective schemes of work aligned with curriculum requirements.
  • Support students in developing their musical skills, including performance and theory.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental practices and student outcomes.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events related to music and the arts.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through professional development and leadership opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching Music at KS3 and KS4.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons to a range of abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of GCSE Music curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Commitment to fostering student motivation and enthusiasm for music.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular music activities.
  • Familiarity with using technology in music education.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
  • Background in research-informed teaching practice.
