The Opportunity:

As a Music Teacher - PYP/MYP, you will play a key role in shaping the musical and creative development of students aged 3 to 16. You will deliver engaging, concept-driven lessons that align with the IB framework and promote critical thinking, expression, and a love of music. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver inquiry-based music lessons aligned with the IB PYP and MYP frameworks.
  • Foster a creative, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment that encourages performance, composition, and musical literacy.
  • Promote student-centered learning and support the development of technical and artistic skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to integrate music with other disciplines and enrich the school community.
  • Design and implement engaging learning experiences that encourage reflection, creativity, and cultural expression.
  • Support students in developing a deep conceptual understanding of music and its role in personal and global contexts.
  • Use technology effectively to enhance music creation, collaboration, and performance.
  • Contribute to the school’s creative and cultural life through performances, events, and enrichment activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher status or internationally recognised equivalent.
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in music or education.
  • At least three years of experience teaching music to students aged 3-16.
  • Experience teaching within IB PYP and/or MYP frameworks or other international curricula.
  • Strong commitment to inquiry-based, concept-driven learning and student-centred education.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching in an international or multicultural environment.
  • Additional teaching specialisms or expertise in other subject areas.
  • Experience in integrating technology into music instruction.
  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership in music education.
