The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic and growing institution as a Music Teacher, responsible for inspiring creativity and innovation in Upper Primary and Secondary students. This role offers the chance to contribute to the development of state-of-the-art music facilities and programmes, while also serving as the main piano accompanist for school events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality music education to Upper Primary and Secondary students, aligning with the English National Curriculum framework.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote creativity, performance, and musical understanding.
- Serve as the primary piano accompanist for school events, including performances and assemblies.
- Support students in preparing for IGCSE and A-Level Music qualifications.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s music programme and facilities.
- Provide individualised support to students, including those with English as an Additional Language.
- Participate in school events, professional development, and community activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a full-time class teaching role.
- Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in Music or a closely related field.
- Relevant postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS).
- Experience teaching Music to a high quality within the English National Curriculum framework.
- Experience in the performance of Music.
Preferred
- Highly proficient level of Piano performance (e.g., ABRSM Grade 8 or equivalent).
- Experience teaching IGCSE and A-Level Music.
- Master’s or postgraduate qualification in a related subject.
- Experience working with EAL pupils (English as an Additional Language).
Compensation & Benefits:
- Two-year renewable contract with competitive salary and gratuity of 18.75%.
- Additional monthly cash allowance and full medical and dental insurance for the employee and spouse.
