The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated MYP Humanities Teacher to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and contribute to a vibrant, international school community that values excellence, respect, and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the IB MYP curriculum and school standards
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic progress
  • Maintain accurate records of student attainment using the school's assessment platforms
  • Support students in preparing for external examinations and personal projects
  • Act as a Form Tutor, building strong relationships with students and promoting their wellbeing
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support department development and curriculum innovation
  • Uphold the school's values of equity, diversity, and inclusion in all classroom interactions
  • Engage in professional development to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • QTS/PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
  • At least 2 years of experience teaching A Level, AP, IB MYP, or IB DP
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related subject
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuing professional development
  • Experience teaching students aged 11-16
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Passion for teaching and learning
  • High levels of personal integrity and organisational skills

Preferred

  • Experience with IB curricula
  • Experience working in an international setting
  • Knowledge of Theory of Knowledge course
  • Experience teaching students aged 17-18
  • Ability to work with diverse student populations
