The Opportunity:

As a MYP Individuals and Societies Teacher, you will deliver engaging, concept-driven learning experiences that promote critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and active global citizenship. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, teach, and assess MYP Individuals & Societies courses in alignment with IB programme standards and practices.
  • Design learning experiences that integrate inquiry, conceptual understanding, and real-world connections.
  • Differentiate instruction to support the diverse language and learning needs of students in a multicultural environment.
  • Incorporate a range of teaching strategies, digital tools, and formative/summative assessments to enhance engagement and achievement.
  • Guide students in research skills, data analysis, and critical evaluation of information sources.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development, review, and documentation of MYP curriculum framework.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to plan interdisciplinary units and ensure continuity of learning.
  • Foster a classroom environment that values inquiry, respect, and intercultural understanding.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in History, Geography, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, preferably in an IB or international school context.
  • Experience teaching MYP Individuals & Societies strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inquiry-based learning, interdisciplinary teaching, and the development of global competencies.

Preferred

  • Experience integrating service learning and global issues into curriculum.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to use technology effectively to enhance learning.
  • Commitment to inclusion, equity, and culturally responsive teaching.
