The MYP Individuals & Societies and DP Economics Teacher will play a key role in shaping the educational experience of students, promoting critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and global citizenship through concept-driven learning. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, teach, and assess MYP Individuals & Societies and DP Economics courses aligned with IB standards.
- Design engaging learning experiences that integrate inquiry, conceptual understanding, and real-world applications.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students in a multicultural setting.
- Use digital tools and a variety of assessment strategies to enhance student engagement and achievement.
- Guide students in developing research, data analysis, and critical evaluation skills.
- Prepare students for DP Economics internal and external assessments, including the Internal Assessment (IA).
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and curriculum frameworks.
- Support student wellbeing and academic growth through mentorship and regular communication with parents.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, History, Geography, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB or international school context.
- Experience teaching MYP Individuals & Societies and/or DP Economics.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated experience with inquiry-based learning and interdisciplinary teaching.
- Experience integrating service learning and global issues into the curriculum.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning.
- Commitment to inclusion, equity, and culturally responsive teaching.
