As a MYP Science and DP Chemistry Teacher, you will inspire students to explore scientific concepts, develop critical thinking, and take informed action toward a more sustainable future. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, teach, and assess concept-driven MYP Science units and rigorous DP Chemistry courses aligned with the IB philosophy.
- Foster inquiry-based learning through hands-on experiments, field studies, and real-world connections.
- Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving through the scientific method and collaborative investigations.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Ensure laboratory safety and promote ethical, environmentally responsible scientific practices.
- Prepare students for success in internal and external IB assessments, including the DP Chemistry Internal Assessment (IA).
- Support student growth through reflective learning, feedback, and academic mentoring.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a coherent and vertically aligned Science curriculum from MYP through DP.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Chemistry, or a closely related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching qualification/license.
- Minimum three years of relevant teaching experience, ideally in an international or IB school.
- Experience teaching both MYP Science and DP Chemistry, or equivalent secondary and pre-university courses.
- Demonstrated understanding of inquiry-based pedagogy and IB assessment frameworks.
- Proficiency in educational technology to support learning and collaboration.
Preferred
- Experience with interdisciplinary teaching and service learning projects.
- Experience working in a culturally diverse environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
