Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, teach, and assess concept-driven MYP Science units and rigorous DP Chemistry courses aligned with the IB philosophy.
  • Foster inquiry-based learning through hands-on experiments, field studies, and real-world connections.
  • Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving through the scientific method and collaborative investigations.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Ensure laboratory safety and promote ethical, environmentally responsible scientific practices.
  • Prepare students for success in internal and external IB assessments, including the DP Chemistry Internal Assessment (IA).
  • Support student growth through reflective learning, feedback, and academic mentoring.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a coherent and vertically aligned Science curriculum from MYP through DP.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Chemistry, or a closely related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching qualification/license.
  • Minimum three years of relevant teaching experience, ideally in an international or IB school.
  • Experience teaching both MYP Science and DP Chemistry, or equivalent secondary and pre-university courses.
  • Demonstrated understanding of inquiry-based pedagogy and IB assessment frameworks.
  • Proficiency in educational technology to support learning and collaboration.

Preferred

  • Experience with interdisciplinary teaching and service learning projects.
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
