Summary:

Join our Nursery Assistant team at a school in Ipswich. Support young children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The Opportunity:

As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality childcare and early years education. You will support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum and help create a safe, stimulating environment for children to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum to ensure children’s development.
  • Work closely with other staff to maintain a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of activities that promote physical, emotional, social and intellectual development.
  • Help manage the daily routine, including meals, play, and outdoor learning.
  • Support children in transitioning between age groups, including Discoverers, Explorers, Adventurers, and Pre-School.
  • Ensure the nursery environment is clean, tidy and welcoming at all times.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of children’s progress and development.
  • Promote positive relationships with parents and carers through regular communication.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3 qualified nursery practitioner or equivalent.
  • Experience working with young children in a nursery or early years setting.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take responsibility for own role.

Preferred

  • Experience with the EYFS curriculum.
  • Experience working in a busy, multi-age nursery setting.
  • Knowledge of child development and play-based learning.
  • Flexibility to work a full-time rota, including weekends and holidays.
