The Opportunity:
As a Nursery Manager, you will lead a welcoming early years setting, delivering high-quality care and education that nurtures both children and staff. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced professional committed to early childhood development and inclusive leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment where children feel happy, secure and supported to thrive.
- Lead and support the Nursery team to deliver high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS framework.
- Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the Nursery, ensuring strong safeguarding, health & safety and compliance at all times.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with parents and carers, offering guidance, reassurance and clear communication.
- Support admissions processes, including responding to enquiries, leading Nursery tours and supporting families through enrolment and transitions.
- Manage Nursery administration, MIS systems and parental communication platforms.
- Support staff recruitment, induction and ongoing training, promoting best practice in care, wellbeing and Safeguarding.
- Prepare the Nursery for Ofsted/ISI inspections and ensure recommendations are implemented thoughtfully and effectively.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Nursery Management or a senior leadership role within an Early Years setting.
- A recognised Early Years qualification at minimum NNEB/NCQ Level 5 Early Years Educator.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding and child development.
- Proven experience of leading and supporting staff in a nurturing, inclusive way.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in working closely with parents and carers.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Experience and knowledge of Early Years funding processes and Local Authority submissions.
Preferred
- Experience using MIS or parental administration systems.
- Budget management and admissions experience.
- Preparation for Ofsted or ISI inspections.
- Commitment to further professional development.
- DSL experience.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £45,000 - £47,500 per annum.
