The Opportunity:

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in creating a stimulating and safe outdoor learning environment that supports children’s development through nature-based activities. You will be responsible for leading engaging play and ensuring a positive, nurturing experience for every child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement outdoor learning activities to promote exploration and creativity.
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all children.
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, demonstrating excellent teamwork.
  • Observe and assess children's development, providing feedback and support.
  • Encourage teamwork and collaboration among children in outdoor settings.
  • Uphold the nursery's values and promote sustainability.
  • Support the delivery of a play-based curriculum that encourages curiosity and physical well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues to ensure a consistent approach to child care and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3+ qualification in early years education or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children in a nursery or early years setting.
  • Commitment to supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Calm, resilient, and caring nature with a passion for outdoor learning.

Preferred

  • Experience with outdoor learning and nature-based play.
  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Familiarity with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Experience with using initiative and problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
