Nursery Practitioner job opportunity with a focus on early years education and child development.

The Opportunity:

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children aged 2 to 4 years old. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners’ early development and prepare them for a smooth transition into Reception.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Nursery Teacher in planning and delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Create a stimulating and engaging learning environment for all children.
  • Act as a Key Person for a group of children, monitoring and supporting their development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding children’s progress.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and inclusion policies are adhered to.
  • Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing within the Nursery.
  • Participate in wider school activities, including assemblies and seasonal events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification.
  • At least 12 months’ experience working in a nursery or early years setting post-qualification.
  • Strong understanding of child development and EYFS statutory guidance.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusive practices and safeguarding procedures.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing environments.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and fixed-term contract until 3 July 2026.
  • Term-time only working hours from 08:00 to 16:20, Monday to Friday.
