The Opportunity:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping students with physical, sensory, and developmental challenges achieve greater independence and success in school. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to create and implement individualized therapy programs that meet each student’s unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students to identify their physical, sensory, and developmental needs
- Develop and implement individualized therapy programs to improve functional skills and independence
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student progress
- Provide guidance on assistive strategies and interventions for students with disabilities
- Document student progress and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support students in activities of daily living (ADLs) and sensory integration
- Prepare detailed therapy reports and maintain accurate records
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure a holistic approach to student care
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or higher (Master’s degree preferred)
- Valid professional license or eligibility for registration with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA)
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably within a school or special needs environment
- Demonstrated experience in assessment, sensory integration, fine/gross motor skills, and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Excellent spoken and written English
Preferred
- Arabic language skills
- Experience working with children and young adults with disabilities
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
