The Opportunity:

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will work as part of a collaborative, therapeutic team to deliver individualized care and interventions that help students thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy interventions tailored to students' specific needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other therapists to support student progress and well-being.
  • Conduct assessments and create detailed reports to guide therapeutic planning and intervention.
  • Provide direct therapy sessions and support students in developing life skills, sensory processing, and motor coordination.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of school-wide therapeutic strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with school policies and legal requirements.
  • Support the delivery of trauma-informed care across all aspects of student life.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in occupational therapy and therapeutic education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified and registered occupational therapist with relevant professional experience.
  • Experience working with children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic education and trauma-informed practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Experience with education, health and care (EHC) plans.
  • Commitment to professional development and ongoing learning.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple sites and support a range of student needs.
