Occupational Therapist needed at a specialist college for young adults with complex needs.

The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide essential therapy services for students with complex needs. This role is central to improving students' sensory, motor, and functional abilities through individualised programs. The successful candidate will work closely with educators, families, and external agencies to support student development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualised occupational therapy programs tailored to student needs.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to support student progress and well-being.
- Assess and address students’ sensory, motor, and functional needs through targeted interventions.
- Work alongside the head of therapy to enhance and expand the occupational therapy provision.
- Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on student progress and therapy outcomes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of student care plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student assessments and interventions.
- Stay current with best practices in occupational therapy for students with complex needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified and experienced occupational therapist with at least 2 years of experience working in a specialist school or college for young adults with complex needs.
- Strong understanding of working with students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), and autism.
- Ability to develop and implement individualised therapy programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Preferred
- Experience working with students with physical disabilities and sensory impairments.
- Knowledge of educational frameworks and support systems for students with complex needs.
- Experience in a specialist college or school setting.
- Familiarity with assessment and intervention techniques for students with diverse learning needs.
