Occupational Therapist needed at a school in Pilning, Bristol. Support students with complex needs.

The Opportunity:

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping students with complex needs develop independence and confidence in their daily lives. This is a leadership position where your expertise will shape the future of the school’s therapy provision and support student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the assessment and treatment of students with complex needs, including autism and sensory processing challenges.
  • Manage a caseload of students, working autonomously to deliver impactful interventions.
  • Design and implement therapy programmes aligned with EHCPs and clinical assessments.
  • Collaborate with the SENCo and Headteacher to enhance therapy provision and recommend new tools and resources.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to colleagues across the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with HCPC and RCOT standards.
  • Develop and embed occupational therapy into everyday practice across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience in an Occupational Therapist role supporting children and young people with complex needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
  • Commitment to continual professional development.

Preferred

  • Leadership experience within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in an educational setting with students with complex needs.
  • Experience in developing and embedding therapy provision into school practice.
