Occupational Therapist needed at a special school with complex needs.

The Opportunity:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with complex needs through individualised assessments and treatment plans. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure students receive the highest standard of care and support, helping them to develop essential life skills and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and treat young people with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
- Develop and implement individualised occupational therapy plans
- Collaborate with other professionals including teachers, care staff and other therapists
- Provide line management and supervision of an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Deliver therapeutic interventions to support students’ emotional and physical development
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and contribute to student reviews
- Ensure adherence to safeguarding and health and safety policies
- Support the development of students’ coping strategies and social skills
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualifying experience working with children and young people
- Relevant occupational therapy qualification
- Experience in managing and supervising junior staff
- Knowledge of therapeutic interventions and crisis management techniques
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Preferred
- Experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs
- Experience in a residential or special school setting
- Familiarity with therapeutic models such as Therapeutic Crisis Intervention
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development
