Summary:

Occupational Therapist - Online role with a focus on paediatric therapeutic support.

About the School:

A school dedicated to providing therapeutic education to young people with complex needs, including neurodiverse identities and emotional school avoidance, through innovative online learning.

The Opportunity:

As an Occupational Therapist - Online, you will deliver essential therapeutic support to a paediatric caseload, helping young people aged 7-19 access education and develop life skills. This role is central to creating a supportive, inclusive, and therapeutic online learning environment for vulnerable students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational assessments and interventions remotely to children and young people with complex needs.
  • Collaborate with the online teaching and inclusion teams to ensure a consistent therapeutic approach.
  • Provide advice on moderating the online learning environment to support therapeutic engagement.
  • Conduct training, workshops, and promote therapeutic practice across the school.
  • Plan and coordinate online sessions, using digital tools to support sensory and developmental progress.
  • Support staff in understanding and implementing therapeutic principles in their daily work.
  • Maintain clinical governance standards while being creative and innovative in your approach.
  • Work flexibly and independently, while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • HCPC registration with a recognised Occupational Therapy degree qualification.
  • Substantial experience working with vulnerable young people, those with complex mental health needs, and/or those with challenging behaviours.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate sessions online.
  • Strong digital skills, including the ability to use IT systems effectively.
  • Commitment to the core values of the school, including resilience, professionalism, and inclusivity.

Preferred

  • Experience with neurodiverse students and those with emotional school avoidance.
  • Background in therapeutic education or special needs.
  • Experience in providing training or professional development to staff.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic principles and their application in educational settings.
