The Opportunity:

We are seeking passionate and experienced Online SEN Tutors to deliver impactful, one-to-one tuition to students with special educational needs (SEN) and autism spectrum condition (ASC). This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students while working with a respected and award-winning agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and bespoke lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEN and ASC.
  • Foster a nurturing environment that builds trust, self-esteem, and confidence in students.
  • Follow the Bright Heart Approach, focusing on the whole person before addressing academic goals.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and adhere to all agency policies and procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and education consultants to ensure progress and support.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance tutoring skills.
  • Provide detailed feedback and progress reports to ensure continuous improvement for students.
  • Collaborate with the school’s education team to support students' learning and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Strong subject knowledge in the area of tuition.
  • University qualification or currently studying for one, along with A-levels.
  • Experience working with students with SEN and ASC.
  • A current Enhanced DBS certificate (with a check of the children’s barred list).
  • 2 relevant professional references and a parent reference.

Preferred

  • Experience with in-person tutoring and good availability for daytime sessions.
  • Previous experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) or similar initiatives.
  • Experience with creating individual learning plans (ILPs) for students with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of study techniques and transition support for students moving into adulthood.
