The Opportunity:

Join a school seeking an Online SEN Tutor with experience working with students who have special educational needs and autism spectrum conditions. This role allows you to make a meaningful impact through tailored support, engaging lessons, and a commitment to student well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one and small group online tutoring sessions tailored to the needs of students with SEN and ASC.
  • Create bespoke lesson plans that align with each student’s learning goals and personal development.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages confidence and motivation.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians to provide progress updates and support.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Attend training and development sessions to enhance teaching practices and understanding of SEN needs.
  • Collaborate with education consultants to ensure the delivery of high-quality, consistent tuition.
  • Stay up to date with the latest teaching methodologies and SEN support strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK.
  • A current Enhanced DBS certificate (with a check of the children’s barred list).
  • Strong subject knowledge in the subject(s) you specialise in.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and autism spectrum conditions.
  • A university qualification or currently studying towards one, along with A-levels.
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to student well-being and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) or similar initiatives.
  • Flexibility and good availability for in-person tutoring sessions.
  • Experience with creating individual learning plans (ILPs) and addressing SEMH needs.
  • Previous involvement in training or professional development for SEN support.
