The Opportunity:
As an Outreach Maths Teacher, you will deliver one-to-one lessons to students with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them achieve academic success through engaging and adaptable teaching methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualised Maths lessons aligned with the student's academic level and learning objectives.
- Teach a range of Maths topics at GCSE or equivalent levels.
- Promote mathematical understanding and motivation in students with diverse needs.
- Adapt teaching methods to support students with SEND and other learning challenges.
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
- Collaborate with pastoral teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
- Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with educational requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Maths.
- Experience teaching Edexcel Functional Skills Maths: Entry Level 1 up to Level 2, KS3, or GCSE Mathematics Foundation and Higher level.
- Valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
Preferred
- Experience working with SEND students.
- Strong knowledge of the Mathematics curriculum and related topics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work in various locations, including students’ homes or other designated learning environments.
