Outreach Maths Teacher needed to deliver individualised lessons to students with SEND.

The Opportunity:

As an Outreach Maths Teacher, you will deliver one-to-one lessons to students with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them achieve academic success through individualised and engaging Maths instruction. This role allows you to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students who require additional support to thrive in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver individualised Maths lessons tailored to each student's learning needs and academic level.
  • Teach a range of Maths topics at GCSE or equivalent levels, ensuring curriculum alignment.
  • Promote mathematical understanding and engagement through adaptable teaching methods.
  • Adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies to meet the specific needs of students with SEND.
  • Track and assess student progress, providing regular updates to parents and support teams.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of student progress and lesson content.
  • Collaborate with pastoral teams to ensure holistic student support and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or substantial experience teaching Maths.
  • Experience teaching Edexcel Functional Skills Maths, KS3, or GCSE Mathematics (Foundation and Higher levels).
  • Strong knowledge of the Mathematics curriculum and related topics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work in various locations, including students’ homes and other learning environments.
  • Valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with SEND.
  • SEND-specific training or professional development experience.
  • Experience in one-to-one teaching environments.
