The Opportunity:

As an Outreach Maths Teacher, you will deliver one-to-one lessons to students with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them achieve academic success through individualised and flexible teaching. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students who require alternative learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver individualised Maths lessons tailored to the student’s academic level and learning objectives.
  • Teach a range of Maths topics at GCSE, A-Level, or equivalent levels.
  • Adapt teaching methods to support students with diverse learning needs and challenges.
  • Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and support staff.
  • Maintain thorough records of lessons and student progress in line with educational standards.
  • Collaborate with pastoral teams to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a consistent and supportive learning experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Maths.
  • Experience teaching Edexcel Functional Skills Maths, KS3, GCSE Mathematics, or AQA A-Level Maths.
  • Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum and related topics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work in various locations, including students’ homes.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with SEND.
  • Experience in one-to-one teaching environments.
  • SEND-specific training or professional development in special educational needs.
