The Opportunity:
As a P.E Subject Leader - English Medium, you will play a key role in shaping the school’s physical education programme and leading a team of teachers. This is an opportunity to influence curriculum development, support staff growth, and inspire student engagement in a dynamic, bilingual learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the P.E subject team, including curriculum planning, teacher supervision, and academic reporting.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Subject Leader Handbook with detailed policies and procedures.
- Propose and oversee teaching research initiatives, encouraging staff collaboration and professional development.
- Review and provide feedback on lesson plans, ensuring quality and consistency across the subject team.
- Maintain detailed archives of lesson plans and assessment data for internal and external use.
- Collaborate with Academic Administration on timetable planning, assessments, and class coverage.
- Mentor and observe new and returning teachers, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Organize regular training sessions and seminars to enhance teaching practices and subject knowledge.
- Design and oversee enrichment activities, such as After School Activities and community events, aligned with school and regulatory standards.
- Attend and actively participate in all required meetings and school events, including SLT meetings and AMC activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in teaching and managing international or Chinese curriculum courses.
- Strong subject knowledge and leadership skills within P.E.
- Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of a bilingual school in China.
- A clear understanding of international education and a passion for teaching.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and manage stress effectively.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and teacher leadership roles.
- Familiarity with the IB Diploma Programme or similar international curricula.
- Experience in mentoring or coaching educators.
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese.
