The Opportunity:

A Part Time Geography Teacher is needed to cover maternity leave for the academic year starting in September 2026. This is a great opportunity to join a highly regarded school and contribute to the delivery of Geography at both GCSE and A Level, with a strong emphasis on fieldwork and student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons across all key stages, including GCSE and A Level
  • Plan and implement engaging and innovative teaching strategies that promote student learning and achievement
  • Participate in and lead fieldtrips as part of the Geography curriculum
  • Support the department in maintaining and developing the Geography programme
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral support
  • Monitor and assess student progress in line with school policies and standards
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-quality teaching experience for students
  • Stay up to date with developments in Geography education and incorporate new ideas into teaching practice

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Geography education
  • Proven ability to teach Geography at GCSE and A Level
  • Experience in organizing and leading fieldtrips
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching in a selective or independent school setting
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation in Geography
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and technologies
  • Experience in working with girls in a single-sex educational environment
