Part Time Geography Teacher - Maternity Cover starting September 2026

The Opportunity:
A Part Time Geography Teacher is needed to cover maternity leave for the academic year starting in September 2026. This is a great opportunity to join a highly regarded school and contribute to the delivery of Geography at both GCSE and A Level, with a strong emphasis on fieldwork and student engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Geography lessons across all key stages, including GCSE and A Level
- Plan and implement engaging and innovative teaching strategies that promote student learning and achievement
- Participate in and lead fieldtrips as part of the Geography curriculum
- Support the department in maintaining and developing the Geography programme
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral support
- Monitor and assess student progress in line with school policies and standards
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-quality teaching experience for students
- Stay up to date with developments in Geography education and incorporate new ideas into teaching practice
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Geography education
- Proven ability to teach Geography at GCSE and A Level
- Experience in organizing and leading fieldtrips
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care
Preferred
- Experience in teaching in a selective or independent school setting
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation in Geography
- Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and technologies
- Experience in working with girls in a single-sex educational environment
