Part Time Learning Support Practitioner - Aurora Foxes
About the School:
A school dedicated to helping young people with learning disabilities develop the skills and confidence needed for independent living and successful careers in the hospitality sector.
The Opportunity:
As a Part Time Learning Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting students across residential settings, the hotel, and classroom environments. You will help students build independence, life skills, and prepare for employment in the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in developing independence and life skills such as cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, and communication.
- Work closely with House Managers and Tutors to ensure students receive consistent and effective support.
- Assist in managing student behaviour in a professional and supportive manner.
- Collaborate with session tutors to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Provide one-to-one support to students, monitoring their progress and development.
- Participate in a two-week rota, including weekend and shift work as required.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all students.
- Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths.
- Willingness to work on a rota, including alternate weekends and shift work.
- Ability to work in a team and support students with learning disabilities.
Preferred
- Experience in a similar role or within care or education.
- Level 3 qualification in education or care.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Understanding of working with individuals with learning disabilities.
