Part Time Religious Studies Teacher - Maternity Cover (0.5 FTE) for Lent and Summer terms.

The Opportunity:

A part-time Teacher of Religious Studies (0.5 FTE) is required for the Lent and Summer terms on a maternity cover basis. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning and contribute to the school’s academic and pastoral life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Religious Studies to a high standard, ensuring students achieve excellent results in examinations.
  • Deliver engaging lessons that stimulate intellectual curiosity and maintain a dynamic learning environment.
  • Set and maintain high expectations for pupil behaviour and discipline through effective classroom management.
  • Support students with additional needs, including AEN/SEN, very able students, and those from LAC backgrounds.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including tutoring and supervisory duties.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the school.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and values.
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Religious Studies.
  • Ability to teach to a high standard and achieve strong student outcomes.
  • Experience in working with students of all abilities and backgrounds.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and ethos.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Catholic or independent school setting.
  • Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate or A Level curriculum.
  • Experience in pastoral care or tutoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to school life beyond the classroom.
