The Opportunity:

A part-time School Chaplain is needed to support the spiritual and moral development of students in a school that values diversity, reflection, and respect for all faiths. This role plays a central part in shaping young people’s thinking and fostering a sense of purpose and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver weekday and Sunday services that encourage reflection on meaningful questions and values such as kindness and integrity.
  • Support the spiritual and moral development of students across the school community.
  • Promote a culture of respect, understanding, and inclusivity among students of all faiths and none.
  • Engage with the boarding and co-curricular life of the school.
  • Collaborate with staff and students to develop programmes that reflect the school’s Christian heritage and values.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students as needed.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through leadership and community involvement.
  • Ensure services and activities align with the school’s mission and values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a pastoral or spiritual leadership role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A deep commitment to education and the development of young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and deliver worship services.
  • Understanding of Christian traditions and values.
  • Flexibility to work term-time only, 15 hours per week.

Preferred

  • Ordination within the Anglican Communion or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a school or boarding environment.
  • Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate or A-Level curriculum.
  • Experience in pastoral care or youth ministry.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
